A few years ago I was in Ibiza passed out naked after a night out. My mate took a rather close up photo of my exposed aris and text it to his mrs. His mrs then text it to a load of her mates. I woke up a few hours later to a load of texts from these girls back in England laughing at my hairy bum hole. It was a bit embarrassing - I've never really paid any attention to that are before and it was indeed very hairy.
Since then I have made an effort to shave the hair just past my bum hole.

The danger of cutting yourself is dependent on the method/instrument being used.
A safety razor with a blade blunted by 2-3 times of use is much safer than a Mach3.
As for Veet I find its atrocious smell nauseating. Takes a long time to fade away even after washing.
